Feb. 24

Today, Lao Wang and Lao Yang were checking traps and they sighted a red panda in a tree at Erdaoping. They said it didn’t really run away, but merely stared back at them. Those red pandas always seem to keep us on our toes!

Feb. 25

Today we saw the most beautiful bird perched on some meat that we had been storing outside the field station until we get around to putting it up near the cages in a few days. Those birds really do love the meat!

And so much for our “spring” weather. It seems that the snow has come back in full force and the cold is returning, as indicated by the fact that we all see icicles forming on our windowpanes.
